We have a variety of approaches. All are designed with the client (individual or organisation) and all are about finding integrated, effective ways of living and leading in these dynamic, challenging times.
Individuals: a programme will usually begin with an enquiry of some description, followed by and in depth 2 ˝ - 3 hour ‘Design and Discovery Session. Where possible this is face to face although, with clients in many countries this may well be over two or three phone calls.
During this conversation the pattern and structure for subsequent work is designed. This may be a series of half hour, 40 minute or hour long phone calls, face to face meetings or a mixture of both.
Assignments and practices are developed for the individual to work with to support and integrate their learning and discoveries in their daily lives. The impact of the programme is under continual review and frequency of conversations adjusted accordingly. Some clients choose to complete totally, others retain a ‘maintenance’ relationship, scheduling occasional reviews.
Corporate/ Organisational work: This is always designed with the key client. One to one coaching conversations have a pattern similar to that for individuals. The focus on the whole person is still integral to the relationship however, in this case, the context is that of the working environment.
This can mean that a session is included involving peers or an individual’s Manager, to add in further perspective on their work place and career development aspects.
One to one work with Senior Executives has often led to developing a programme of Team building and Transformation with their Leadership Team or Peers.
Some of the most powerful and effective programmes have involved a mix of residential team events focusing on the Business Purpose, Meaning, Vision, Impact, Communication and Relationships of the Team - with one to one coaching for participants providing a powerful support for the integration of shared purpose, vision and practice.
In some circumstances (again specifically designed) organisational transformation programmes have included the teaching of Coaching Skills.
Other organisational based work has included working to build more effective relationships between an Executive and their Deputy/ Assistant or between two peers in a Leadership Team.
1:1 Personalised Retreats These are Individually designed and take place deep in the peace of the Northumberland National Park, retreats can be 24, 36 or 48 hours. The Retreat is a unique opportunity to create space and time to explore what is top of your agenda whilst being nourished by the landscape, wildlife, magnificent skies, and home cooking made with good, locally produced ingredients. Retreats include reading, walking, one to one conversations to nurture and challenge, and exploring often forgotten or never known creativity. Deep learning and shifts - in a different way in a different space at a different pace.
